1. About Akobuild

Akobuild is a scenario-based learning and professional networking platform for construction, project management, and quantity surveying professionals. It is operated by David Hughes, a sole trader based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. Contact: hello@akobuild.com

2. The service

Akobuild provides:

• Scenario-based CPD training — realistic decision-based scenarios, some free to play, with a paid tier for extended access to the full scenario library
• The Network — a searchable record of construction projects, where users can log their involvement in real projects, describe their role, and have that involvement confirmed by other members who worked with them
• CPD tracking — a personal record of completed scenarios and self-logged CPD activity

3. Accounts

You must create an account to save scenario progress, earn badges, log projects, or use the Network. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and when adding project or CPD information.

4. Pricing

A limited number of scenarios are available free of charge. Extended access to the full scenario library is available on a paid basis; current pricing is displayed on the platform and may change from time to time. Prices are inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.

5. The Network and user-generated content

When you add a project to the Network, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your role and description of your involvement.

Other users who were genuinely involved in the same project may confirm your membership of that project team. This confirmation process ("verification") is intended to reflect genuine peer knowledge but is not independently checked by Akobuild, and Akobuild does not guarantee the accuracy of any project, role, or confirmation.

If you believe information about you on the Network is inaccurate, you may request its removal or correction by contacting hello@akobuild.com. Akobuild reserves the right to remove any content that it reasonably believes to be inaccurate, misleading, or in breach of these terms.

6. Invitations

Akobuild allows existing members to invite others to join a project via a single-use link. You are responsible for only sending invitations to people you genuinely intend to invite. Invite links expire once used and cannot be reused.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use Akobuild to submit false information about yourself or others, misrepresent your involvement in a project, harass or impersonate another user, or attempt to circumvent the platform's verification or security features.

8. Intellectual property

Scenario content, including all decisions, characters, and lesson material, is the intellectual property of David Hughes trading as Akobuild and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without permission. You retain ownership of the project descriptions and personal content you submit, but grant Akobuild a licence to display and use it as part of the platform's normal operation, including showing it to other users where relevant (such as project team listings).

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Akobuild's total liability to you in connection with your use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to Akobuild in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100, whichever is greater, for free-tier users.

Akobuild accepts no liability for indirect, consequential, or special losses. Akobuild does not provide legal, professional, or career advice, and scenario content — while designed to be technically accurate — should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice specific to your circumstances.

10. Account suspension and termination

Akobuild may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, including providing false information or misusing the invitation or verification features. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@akobuild.com.

11. Changes to these terms

Akobuild may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
